Our Materials
The materials behind PERALBA
At PERALBA, we carefully select every material with quality, durability, and the comfort of truly barefoot footwear in mind.
Natural leather
We use natural leather, tanned to ensure softness and long-lasting wear. With use, the leather molds to your foot and develops character over time.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water or rain. If wet, let dry naturally away from direct heat sources.
- Color may deepen or develop a natural patina over time. This is a sign of quality, not a defect.
- Condition regularly with a leather cream to keep it supple and prevent cracking.
- Store away from direct sunlight to avoid fading.
Suede
Suede brings a soft texture and a premium finish. It requires a little extra care to keep it looking its best.
- Protect with a suede waterproof spray before first wear.
- Avoid water and moisture as suede can stain easily when wet.
- Brush gently with a suede brush to restore the nap and remove surface dirt.
- Color may lighten slightly in areas of friction over time.
- Store in a dust bag or box to protect the surface.
Breathable mesh
Featured in styles like XALÓ, mesh offers lightness and maximum ventilation, ideal for warmer months.
- Hand wash gently with cold water and mild soap if needed.
- Air dry flat, away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid machine washing.
General care tips
- Rotate your shoes and allow them to rest between wears.
- Use a shoe tree or stuff with tissue paper to help maintain shape.
- Keep away from extreme heat (radiators, car dashboards) which can warp or dry out materials.
Most of our materials are of animal origin. If you have questions about the composition of a specific style, reach out and we'll be happy to help.
